Project phase

Usted está aquí: InLoox Project management glossary Project phase

Project phase represents the collection of the project activities aimed to prepare the product. Each project phase is goal-oriented and contains a particular number of the work steps. Each phase ends at a milestone, whose attainment means the project progress. Each phase is divided into sub-phases and individual components in a project. The structure plan is available in each project and clears the systematic hierarchy of each phase.

The project phases belong to the process of the work product manufacture. These phases service to the better control of the project, to create the product and all services to be provided. The project division into phases is necessary in order to better recognize possible profits and risks in a project. The project phase fulfills therefore the monitoring and control functions in the project process. Generally, the project process can be subdivided into the following work steps: project definition, project planning, project implementation and control, project completion.
